Most of you know that apples are my all time favorite fruit. I was excited to try out this pairing! I find this to be a perfect option for a clean eating snack or light meal.
It’s a combination of salty and sweet, packing a protein punch to help power you through your day without getting HANGRY.
Best part is, you’re helping to balance your blood sugars by combining both a fruit and protein along with some healthy fat. All in the right portions!
Apple Protein Bites
1 small apple, sliced in circles (Pink Lady is my favorite!)
1 can light tuna in water, drained (or 3/4 cup)
2 tsp olive oil or mayo
1 tsp apple cider vinegar
Dash of onion powder
Sea salt & pepper to taste
Stir together the tuna, olive oil, vinegar and spices until smooth. Spoon mixture on to apple slices. Enjoy!
